Dodge City Fireworks Ban Lifted
December 29, 2011
At a special meeting on Wednesday, December 28th, the Dodge City Commission lifted the ban on the discharge of fireworks for Dodge City residents.
Fireworks can be lawfully discharged within the city limits of Dodge City beginning 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 31, until 12:30 am on January 1, 2012.
Residents are reminded that fireworks cannot be discharged on any public property including school playgrounds and athletic facilities, any public rights of way or public parking areas such as the CivicCenter and Memorial Stadium.
The ban on fireworks was put in effect this summer due to the severe drought conditions. With weather conditions somewhat improved, residents now have the opportunity to discharge the fireworks they may have purchased for the 4th of July.
If further clarification is necessary, calls can be directed to the Fire Department at 225-8187.
