China, Tibet, and minorities through the eyes of a country boy

January 18, 2012

Have you ever wondered what it was like to visit China and Tibet? On January 19 at 7pm Dodge City Public Library will present “China, Tibet, and minorities through the eyes of a country boy.” Presenter Gene Dole, CEO of Dodge City Medical Center, had graduate school and field training in paleoanthropology at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio). While fulfilling the required course work he became enthralled with the Tibetan culture. Finally, in June of 2011 he was able to travel to Tibet and China. Gene will talk about and contrast many aspects of the metropolitan cities of Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai with the smaller areas of Lhasa, Kunming and the country side. All who like to learn about other cultures and who love to travel will not want to miss this program. For more information contact the library at 225-0248 or on the web at www.dcpl.info.
