Boot Hill Museum to hold Auditions for Long Branch Variety Show
February 22, 2012
Doug Austen, Long Branch Variety Show Director at Boot Hill Museum, invites you to audition for the upcoming season. Individuals interested in becoming part of the Long Branch Variety Show cast are encouraged to audition. Austen will be casting for Can-Can dancers, singing bartenders, piano players and other comedy & musical specialty acts.
The Long Branch Variety Show will open for its 55th season on May 26th. The show first opened in 1958 and has continued to be the highlight of summer activities at Boot Hill Museum since that time. The show is presented each evening throughout the summer season following a fabulous country-style dinner and the World Famous Boot Hill Gunfight.
Auditions for the Long Branch Variety Show are scheduled for Saturday, March 24, 2012 and Saturday March 31, 2012. Audition times need to be scheduled through the museum office. Vocalists, pianists and specialty acts auditions will be held between 1 pm and 2:30 pm. Audition participants should bring a prepared piece and are encouraged to be creative with their choice of material. Dancer auditions will begin at 2:30. Dancer audition participants are not required to bring a prepared dance piece (but can if they wish) and should dress appropriately as all participants will be taught a portion of the Can-Can. Please call 620.227.8188 for your audition time and further details.
